2024 RBC Canadian Open: Best bets to make for Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf & Country Club
We break down the odds for the Canadian Open and look for the best value plays
The PGA Tour makes the trip up to the Great White North for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. Fresh off perhaps the most memorable edition of the tournament in 2023, the Canadian Open will aim to follow up on the fireworks and crown another home hero.
Last year it was Nick Taylor who broke the six-decade long drought of Canadian winners in their home country's open. After sputtering out the gates, Taylor was flawless over his next 54 holes to get into a playoff with Tommy Fleetwood. On the third extra hole, the Canadian drained a 72-foot eagle putt to seal deal and catapult his name into Canadian sports lore.
Both Taylor and Fleetwood are in the field this week at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, the venue where Rory McIlroy won the first of two Canadian Open titles. Last hosting this event in 2019, Hamilton was the course where McIlroy ran away from the field with a Sunday 61 to win by seven strokes over the likes of Webb Simpson and Shane Lowry.
McIlroy eyes his third Canadian Open title and his third trophy of the season in a field that features a number of Canadians like Taylor, Corey Conners, Adam Hadwin, Taylor Pendrith and Mackenzie Hughes, but also a number of potential contenders in Sahith Theegala, Alex Noren, Sam Burns and Cameron Young.
