2023 Santa Anita Park morning line odds: Racing insider gives picks for the middle Pick 4 for Opening Day, Tuesday, Dec. 26
Sharp handicapper and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir, who smashed the trifecta in the 2023 Belmont Stakes, has revealed his picks for the middle Pick 4 on Tuesday at Santa Anita Park
Tuesday is Opening Day of the upcoming Classic meet at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., and the middle Pick 4 begins with the American Oaks at 4 p.m. ET and ends with the Malibu Stakes. Before you make any picks, you NEED to know how Saratoga Springs-based racing insider and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir has handicapped the sequence.
A member of the Beyer Speed Figure-making team, Weir is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. He has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014.
Last year he was red-hot in the Triple Crown prep races, hitting the superfecta in the Blue Grass Stakes for $1,678 and exactas in the Fountain of Youth Stakes and Tampa Bay Derby. He also hit the 19-1 winner of the Man o' War Stakes, the trifecta in the Pegasus World Cup, the superfecta in the Met Mile and multiple Pick 4s.
In April of this year, he hit a Pick 4 at Santa Anita Park for $641, the exacta in the Florida Derby, a Pick 5 at Keeneland and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes. He smashed the trifecta in the Belmont Stakes for $532.96, and later in June he crushed the Pick 4 at Belmont for $555. Those are just some of his scores this year.
For Tuesday, Weir has handicapped the middle Pick 4 at Santa Anita Park, made his picks and constructed his tickets.
We can tell you that Weir is high on Subsanador, the 9-5 favorite in the San Antonio Stakes, the second leg of the Pick 4. "He has reportedly been working well in the morning, which explains the low morning-line odds, and finds a suspect Grade 2 field to kick off his U.S. racing," Weir told SportsLine. Subsanador is Weir's top pick in the San Antonio Stakes and the only A horse from the race on his Pick 4 tickets.
In addition, Weir is high on a double-digit longshot on Tuesday. Weir says this longshot "comes back in a tougher spot" and could spice up the Pick 4. Weir is including this longshot on his tickets, and so should you. You NEED to see Weir's analysis before making any Pick 4 selections.
