2023 Kentucky Oaks morning-line odds, picks, post time: Racing insider offers betting strategy for Friday's race

The title of best 3-year-old filly will be up for grabs when the starting gate opens in the 2023 Kentucky Oaks on Friday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. The Brad Cox-trained Wet Paint has been installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the 2023 Kentucky Oaks odds. Botanical, who's also trained by Cox, is the 4-1 second choice in the 14-horse Kentucky Oaks field. Post time for the Kentucky Oaks is 5:51 p.m. ET.

Five weeks ago, he hit the late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park and the exacta in the Florida Derby. Three weeks ago, he nailed the Pick 5 at Keeneland and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes.

One surprise: Weir is taking a stand against Botanical, even though she's the 4-1 second choice on the morning line. "It's hard to accept any horse going off as the second choice in her toughest race to date on a new surface," Weir told SportsLine.
