The best field in more than a decade will compete at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., when play begins in the 2023 John Deere Classic on Thursday. This year's tournament has attracted nine players in the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking. The last time the John Deere Classic had this many top-50 players was 2012. Russell Henley and Denny McCarthy, who are No. 29 and 34 respectively in the world, are the +1400 co-favorites in the latest 2023 John Deere Classic golf odds. Cameron Young, who is the highest ranked player in the field at No. 19, is the third choice in the odds, at +1600.
Before you consider any 2023 John Deere Classic picks or bets, make sure you check out the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad, considering his success with golf picks.
Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. The expert has been on fire on head-to-head matchups since the Charles Schwab Challenge, going 15-4 and returning 9.05 units over that span. That's a $900 profit for $100 bettors in the past six weeks.
Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in eight of 10 weeks. He was up more than 70 units over that three-month span.
Now, Nejad has been digging into the 2023 John Deere Classic field to find the best value and just locked in his best bets and favorites to avoid.
One surprise: Nejad is low on the chances of Ludvig Aberg, even though he is a perfect 5-for-5 in cuts made this year and is 3-for-3 since turning pro last month. However, Nejad is bullish on Eric Cole, even though he is a +3000 longshot. "He took last week off, which should be a big help to him as he had played 10 straight tournaments," Nejad told SportsLine.
Moreover, Nejad is jumping on several underdogs, including one HUGE longshot who's priced well above 70-1. This player has been "playing in a very sustainable way" and is a longshot who could surprise. If he does, you could cash in huge. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any 2023 John Deere Classic picks of your own!
