Canada make one final attempt at advancing to the knockout stage when they take on Cuba in their final Group D match in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup on Tuesday. Cuba already have been eliminated from title contention, losing their first two games by a combined 5-1 margin.
Kickoff at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. The Canadians are -1200 favorites (risk $1200 to win $100) in the latest Canada vs. Cuba odds, while the Cubans are +2400 underdogs. A 90-minute draw is priced at +800 and the over/under for total goals is 3.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here)
Before you make any Cuba vs. Canada picks or Concacaf Gold Cup predictions, you NEED to see what SportsLine soccer insider Martin Green has to say.
After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since last year's World Cup, Green has been profitable in multiple areas on his soccer picks, including the Champions League (+4.78 units), the FA Cup (+3.07), the EFL Cup (+3.64), Euro 2024 qualifiers (+3.01) and the Europa League (+1.60).
The expert knows many of Canada's top forwards are not participating in this competition, as the team elected to give some younger players some much-needed experience. The Canadians' weakness on offense was evident on Saturday as they played to a 0-0 draw against Guatemala. Canada battled Guadeloupe to a 2-2 draw in their Gold Cup opener, with forward Lucas Cavallini and defender Richie Laryea netting the tallies in that match.
Green also is aware that Cuba's offensive problems have been even worse, as they're in the midst of a four-game losing streak across all competitions during which the team has recorded one goal. That tally came in Saturday's 4-1 setback against Guadeloupe, with Arichel Hernandez converting a penalty in the 62nd minute. After taking a 3-2 lead against the Dominican Republic in a friendly in mid-November, the Cubans have produced a total of five goals over seven-plus matches, with the 29-year-old midfielder scoring two of them.
Now, Green has taken an in-depth look at the Canada vs. Cuba match from every angle. We can tell you he is leaning Under on the goal total and has two CONFIDENT best bets, including one that pays plus money, in addition to a full breakdown of this Concacaf Gold Cup Group D matchup. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
