Lucas Glover's sizzling summer stretch continued into the FedEx Cup Playoffs and has catapulted his name inside the top four of the season-long race. Without a top-20 finish until the Canadian Open, Glover now finds himself behind only Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy with eight competitive rounds left in the 2023 season.
Glover looks to emulate Billy Horschel's 2014 FedEx Cup Playoffs run and play himself not only into contention at the Tour Championship but onto the U.S. Ryder Cup team for Rome. Glover will need to keep his foot on the gas this week at Olympia Fields as the PGA Tour returns for the first time since the 2020 BMW Championship.
A dramatic playoff unfolded in 2020 and saw Jon Rahm defeat Dustin Johnson on the first extra hole. After Johnson connected from distance on the 72nd hole to tie Rahm, the Spaniard flipped the tables on the American and walked away with the BMW Championship trophy.
Rahm shot a stunning 6-under 64 Sunday to overcome a massive 36-hole deficit and displayed an immaculate tee-to-green performance. With the winning score coming in at 4-under, expect a U.S. Open-style test that will see the game's elites rise as the week progresses.
