Real Madrid look to continue their perfect start to the 2023-24 La Liga season when they visit Celta Vigo on Friday. Real Madrid (2-0-0) began the campaign with a pair of road victories, defeating Athletic Club 2-0 and Almeria 3-1. Celta Vigo (0-1-1) are seeking their first win of the season after losing to Osasuna 2-0 in their opener and battling Real Sociedad to a 1-1 draw. Los Blancos outscored Los Celestes 6-1 while sweeping the two-game series in 2022-23.
Kickoff at Balaidos is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Los Blancos are -140 favorites (risk $140 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line in the latest Real Madrid vs. Celta Vigo odds, while Los Celestes are +370 underdogs. A draw is priced at +275 and the over/under for total goals scored is 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)
Before you bet on the Celta Vigo vs. Real Madrid match or make any other La Liga predictions, you need to see what SportsLine's soccer expert Martin Green has to say.
After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since last year's Men's World Cup, Green has been profitable in multiple areas on his soccer picks, including the Champions League (+4.78 units), the FA Cup (+3.07), the 2022-23 EFL Cup (+3.64), Euro 2024 qualifiers (+3.01) and the Europa League (+1.60).
Green knows Real Madrid lost their top scorer from last season as Karim Benzema, who recorded 19 goals in 2022-23, signed with Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Professional League in June. Newcomer Jude Bellingham has filled the void nicely thus far, netting three tallies in his first two matches with Los Blancos after spending the previous three campaigns with Borussia Dortmund of the German Bundesliga. Real Madrid have won six consecutive meetings with Celta Vigo and are unbeaten in their last 18 La Liga matchups, recording 16 victories and a pair of draws.
The expert also is aware that Celta Vigo have struggled offensively, recording their lone goal of the season in the 94th minute of their second game. Los Celestes are hoping captain Iago Aspas and midfielder Gabriel Veiga can rediscover the scoring touch they had last campaign. A 36-year-old striker, Aspas led the club in 2022-23 with 12 tallies, while the 21-year-old Veiga converted 11 times in 36 contests.
