A stern test at Brookline gives way to what could be an easy stroll for many of the PGA Tour's elite golfers when they tee off in the 2022 Travelers Championship. The tournament begins Thursday at TPC River Highlands, and the course in Cromwell, Conn. is one of the shortest on the PGA Tour. Six of the world's top 10 golfers and the top four in the FedEx Cup standings are scheduled to compete this week. That includes world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who tied for second in the U.S. Open, and Rory McIlroy, who tied for fifth. Other notable names in the field include PGA winner Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka.

Caesars Sportsbook lists McIlroy as the 10-1 favorite in its latest 2022 Travelers Championship odds, with Scheffler (11-1) and Thomas (12-1) hot on his heels. Patrick Cantlay is priced at 16-1, while Sam Burns (18-1), Xander Schauffele (20-1) and Spieth (22-1) also are among the top contenders.

Before you consider any 2022 Travelers Championship picks or make any PGA Tour predictions, you HAVE TO see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say.

Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.

Before last week's U.S. Open, the expert had Matt Fitzpatrick among his best bets. Holliman knew the Englishman hadn't won yet on the PGA Tour, but knew his seven worldwide wins gave him the confidence to get it done.

"Getting his first PGA Tour win in a major championship will be tough," Holliman said, "but Fitzpatrick has all the skills to do it." The result? The 27-year-old kept his composure as many around him fell apart on Sunday and closed with a 68 to finish six under and take the title!

Holliman also seems to have a knack for finding diamonds in the rough. At the Charles Schwab, he had both winner Sam Burns (28-1) and Davis Riley (45-1) among his contenders. And before the PGA Championship, he touted Cameron Young, who came in at 65-1 and tied for third.

At the Wells Fargo, he backed winner Max Homa (40-1) and runner-up Keegan Bradley (35-1), and even had Stephan Jaeger (125-1) among his contenders as the German tied for sixth. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP!

Now, Holliman has released his confident 2022 Travelers Championship picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Thomas, even though the PGA champ is among the top choices of oddsmakers! Thomas had a frustrating week in tying for 37th at Brookline, and the expert believes that could carry over. He also doesn't have much of a track record at River Highlands, so Holliman is steering clear.

Instead, the golf expert is touting a long shot who comes in at around 50-1! This overlooked player has quietly performed very well in the past two majors. He "has the intangibles to win," Holliman says, and it would be a SHOCKING victory! Anyone who backs this underdog could cash in HUGE!
