After one of the weakest PGA Tour events of the season, most of the world's top players are in the United Kingdom this week for the 2022 Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. The year's final major is next week at St. Andrews, and the links course in North Berwick, Scotland is a great place to prepare. The event is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour for the first time, and the Scotland Open 2022 field is stacked with talent. U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick lost in a three-man playoff last year and is back along with winner Min Woo Lee. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and reigning British Open champ Collin Morikawa are among the many stars set to compete.
Rahm finished seventh in the event last year and is the 11-1 favorite in the latest 2022 Scottish Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Thomas and Scheffler are next in line at 12-1, and Fitzpatrick (18-1), Xander Schauffele (18-1) and 2021 FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay (22-1) also are top contenders.
Which players can you trust for your 2022 Scottish Open fantasy golf picks? Before you bet the 2022 Scottish Open or lock in your Fantasy golf lineups, you NEED to see the 2022 Scottish Open Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Riley Gates.
Gates is a writer for 247Sports and has covered a range of sports for nearly six years. He has followed golf closely for much longer and has a profound knowledge of the sport. He also knows what it takes to win, on the course and in fantasy sports.
Gates has been crushing his golf picks all season. At last week's John Deere Classic, he NAILED 40-1 longshot J.T. Poston as a potential winner. "Poston has been sniffing a win in recent months," Gates said. "At these odds, I think it is more than fair to give Poston a light sprinkle to come away with the win."
The 29-year-old went 21 under at TPC Deere Run to cruise to a three-stroke victory, his second on the PGA Tour and his first in nearly three years. Gates' top three fantasy anchors also all finished in the top 16, two of them in the top 10!
At the Travelers, he was all over Sahith Theegala, who was priced at just $7,300 at DraftKings and finished as a runner-up to help many Fantasy golf players cash in! At the Memorial, five of Gates' nine picks finished in the top 15, including his biggest sleeper, Brendan Steele -- just $6,600 at DraftKings -- who posted a top-10 finish!
And at the Wells Fargo, four of his top six players finished in the top five, including winner Max Homa, a 40-1 long shot. Anyone who has followed Gates is WAY UP!
Now, Gates has ranked his top players for the 2022 Scottish Open and we can tell you the expert is backing Sam Burns. The 25-year-old has hit a bit of a slump and is priced a little steep at $9,200 at DraftKings, but the expert isn't worried. "I feel like we are about to see him get hot again," he says.
On the other hand, Gates is fading Morikawa, even though he looks to be heating up. The two-time major champ tied for fifth at the U.S. Open in his last tournament, but Gates expects him to be distracted by his task for next week at St. Andrews. He typically hasn't fared well the week before majors.
For this week's tournament at The Renaissance Club, Gates is backing a player who is priced at just over $7,000 at DraftKings! This golfer gains strokes both off the tee and tee-to-green and posted a strong finish his last time out. He should be an excellent value pick this week.
You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Gates is backing and check out his top picks before you bet the 2022 Scottish Open or enter any Scottish Open 2022 fantasy golf picks.
