2022 Scottish Open field, odds, predictions: Best bets and picks from golf expert who seeks the PGA Tour long shots

Jim Holliman, who has been around the game for more than three decades and has been nailing his golf picks, offers his best bets and winners for the 2022 Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club near Edinburgh

The 2022 Scottish Open will be a great tune-up for the British Open, and many of the world's top players are taking advantage and will tee off Thursday at the Renaissance Club. The course in North Berwick, just outside Edinburgh, Scotland, is a modern links course that will get a loaded Scottish Open 2022 field ready to take on the Old Course at St. Andrews next week. The Scottish Open field includes 14 of the world's top 15 golfers, with Rory McIlroy taking the week off. That means No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick and Collin Morikawa, who is prepping to defend his British Open title, are among the many elite players expected to contend.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Jon Rahm as the 11-1 favorite in its latest 2022 Scottish Open odds, with PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas and Scheffler next in line at 12-1. Fitzpatrick (18-1), Xander Schauffele (18-1) and reigning FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay (22-1) also are among the top favorites in the 2022 Scottish Open field.

Before you consider any 2022 Scottish Open picks or make any PGA Tour predictions, you HAVE TO see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say.

Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.

Holliman seems to have a knack for finding longshots who can contend. Before last week's John Deere Classic, Holliman was high on Maverick McNealy (28-1) and Denny McCarthy (25-1) as both posted top-10 finishes. And at the Travelers Championship, the expert backed winner  Xander Schauffele among his best bets and loved 45-1 Brian Harman, who shot 66 on Sunday to tie for eighth.

At the Charles Schwab, he had both winner Sam Burns (28-1) and Davis Riley (45-1) among his contenders. And before the PGA Championship, he touted Cameron Young, who came in at 65-1 and tied for third. For the Wells Fargo, he backed winner Max Homa (40-1) and runner-up Keegan Bradley (35-1), and even had Stephan Jaeger (125-1) among his contenders as the German tied for sixth. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP!

Now, Holliman has released his confident 2022 Scottish Open picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Thomas, even though he won his second major less than two months ago! The two-time PGA champ has never had much success across the pond, and he was trending downward at the U.S. Open, where he tied for 37th.

Instead, the golf expert is touting a long shot who comes in at more than 60-1! This player has posted top-10 finishes in the past two British Opens and knows the UK courses well. He also has a strong history at this tournament and could pull off a STUNNING victory! Anyone who backs this underdog could cash in HUGE!
