2022 RBC Heritage field, odds, predictions: Best bets and PGA Tour picks from golf expert

Jim Holliman, who has been around the game for more than three decades, offers his best bets and winners for this week's RBC Heritage in Hilton Head

Another challenge awaits some of the PGA Tour's top golfers, as a surprisingly strong post-Masters field prepares to tee off Thursday at the 2022 RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links. The course in Hilton Head Island, S.C. is a tour favorite and has lured five of the world's top 10 golfers to travel over from Augusta. Cameron Smith, who faltered Sunday at the Masters but finished in a tie for third, will be joined top players like Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa in the RBC Heritage 2022 field.

Morikawa was fifth at Augusta and Thomas tied for eighth, and they are the 14-1 co-favorites in the latest 2022 RBC Heritage golf odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Smith, who has two wins already this season, is priced at 14-1, followed by Johnson and reigning FedEx Cup champ Patrick Cantlay, who are both at 16-1.

Before you consider any bets on the 2022 RBC Heritage or make any PGA Tour predictions, you HAVE TO see what golf expert Jim Holliman has to say. Holliman has been a writer and editor for more than 20 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.

Before last week's the Masters, the expert listed winner Scottie Scheffler among his contenders, predicting that his lack of accuracy off the tee would not hinder him. In fact, the wide landing areas at Augusta allowed the world's No. 1 player to have his best driving week of the season, hitting almost 77 percent of his fairways. Of course, he eased to his fourth victory of the season, winning by three strokes.

Holliman also confidently predicted Bryson DeChambeau would go home early. And he shot his worst career round at a major on Friday, posting 80 to finish 12 over and miss the cut by eight strokes. "He was dreadful in missing the cut at Texas," Holliman said, "so don't even give him any thought."

Holliman has released his confident 2022 RBC Heritage picks. SHOCKINGLY, the golf expert is fading Dustin Johnson, who is one of the top five favorites. The two-time major winner is returning to form, slowly, but the two-time major champion could take his foot off the gas after the grind of the Players, Match Play and Masters. He also still struggles with accuracy, and "that will cost him this week," Holliman says. "He might hang around, but he is unlikely to seriously contend."

Instead, the golf expert is picking a HUGE long shot to who comes in at more than 60-1! The expert knows this player has been hanging around all season and has a couple of excellent finishes. He might just pull off a STUNNING victory, and anyone who backs this underdog could make a HUGE profit!
