Two of the most productive young quarterbacks in the league will continue their growing rivalry when Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers kick off Week 2 by visiting Patrick Mahomes and the AFC West-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. Herbert, who is 2-2 with 10 touchdown passes and two interceptions against the Chiefs, led Los Angeles to a 24-19 victory over Las Vegas on Sunday. Kansas City rolled past Arizona 44-21 as Mahomes, who has won two of his three head-to-head matchups versus Herbert, had five scoring tosses.

Kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. Kansas City is a four-point favorite in the latest Chiefs vs. Chargers odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is 54.

Before making any Chargers vs. Chiefs picks of your own, you NEED to check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up more than $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 139-98 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP.

The model knows Mahomes is 5-2 lifetime against the Chargers with 16 touchdown passes and five interceptions. The 2018 NFL MVP has been superb in September since becoming Kansas City's starting quarterback, leading the team to 12 wins in 14 contests while making 46 TD tosses with just three interceptions. With his performance on Sunday, Mahomes has thrown at least five scoring passes six times in his career, tying him with Dan Marino and Ben Roethlisberger for fourth-most in NFL history.

The model also knows Herbert has guided Los Angeles to victory at Kansas City each of the last two seasons. In last year's visit, the 24-year-old threw two of his season-high four touchdown passes to Mike Williams. Herbert, who also has three rushing TDs versus the Chiefs, has thrown 31 scoring passes and seven interceptions against AFC West opponents in his brief career.

Now, the model has set its sights on Chiefs vs. Chargers. We can tell you the model is leaning Under, and it also says one side of the spread cashes in nearly 60% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
