Belgium starts off what they hope will be fruitful competition on Wednesday when they take on upstart Canada in a Group F match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Belgians reached the quarterfinals in 2014 and lost in the semifinals in 2018, and time is running out on their Golden Generation to win a major trophy.  Canada are in the World Cup for the first time since 1986, when they lost all three games and didn't score a goal, but they dominated in qualifying and have a strong core that is aiming to surprise.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday at Al Rayyan Stadium. Belgium are the -185 favorite in the latest Belgium vs. Canada odds from Caesars Sportsbook, with Canada the +490 underdog. A draw is priced at +310, and the over/under for total goals is 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)

Before you lock in your Canada vs. Belgium picks or FIFA World Cup 2022 predictions, you need to see what SportsLine soccer insider Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for more than five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton also has been on a roll with his best bets, going 148-112-1 over his last 261 soccer picks in 2022, returning more than $2,000 for $100 bettors!

Sutton knows Belgium have spent considerable time in recent years as the No. 1 team in FIFA's world rankings, and they are hungry to live up to that. They have one of the best midfielders of his generation in Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku (68) and Eden Hazard (33) are the team's all-time leading scorers. Michy Batshuayi, who has 26 goals in 48 international matches, is likely to start in place of the banged-up Lukaku. Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois also is among the best of his generation at his position.

Sutton also knows Canada will play with abandon as the least likely team from the group to advance, according to Caesars Sportsbook. They are priced at +300 to move into the knockout round, behind Morocco (+188), Croatia (-200) and Belgium (-600). Still, the Maple Leafs have plenty of talent, with Cyle Larin and Jonathan David leading the attack. David has 22 goals in 35 international matches, while Larin has 25 in 55 matches. Star Alphonso Davies, who has 12 in 34 matches, could be out with a hamstring injury.

Sutton has taken an in-depth look at Belgium vs. Canada, and he has locked in a CONFIDENT best bet while offering a full breakdown of this Group F match at the 2022 World Cup. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his pick and analysis before making any selections of your own.
