Hideki Matsuyama and Tony Finau highlight the field for the 2022 3M Open, which tees off Thursday at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn. They are part of the small group of players making the trip back after the Open Championship to tee up this week. Sahith Theegala and Sungjae Im also are part of that contingent, while up-and-comers Davis Riley and Maverick McNealy are among the many golfers hoping to take advantage of the weaker field to grab a first PGA Tour victory.

Finau is the 12-1 favorite in Caesars Sportsbook's latest 2022 3M Open odds, with Matsuyama (16-1) and Im (18-1) right behind. Among the other favorites in the 2022 3M Open field are Adam Hadwin (20-1), McNealy (22-1), Theegala (25-1), Riley (25-1) and Cam Davis (25-1).

Before you lock in any 2022 3M Open picks, be sure to see the 3M Open 2022 predictions and best bets from golf insider Patrick McDonald.

After spending time at FanSided and NBC Sports EDGE, McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf writer in the spring of 2022. Now covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still likes to dip his toes into the betting pools on a weekly basis on the PGA Tour.

He takes a measured approach to his outright selections and is up more than 58 units on those plays in 2022, having hit Cameron Smith (22-1) at the Tournament of Champions, Hudson Swafford (250-1) at The American Express, Joaquin Niemann (70-1) at the Genesis Invitational and Justin Thomas (66-1) live at the PGA Championship.

Now, McDonald has studied the 2022 3M Open field and locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. We can tell you McDonald is fading Jason Day, even though the former world No. 1 should thrive in this weaker field! Day has really been struggling on approach shots, and his short game isn't likely to be enough to keep him in the mix.

Instead, McDonald is targeting a pair of more obscure players who come in at MASSIVE odds of around 100-1! One of these players crushes it off the tee, and that length will give him a huge leg up on the competition this week. He could pull off a STUNNING result, and you could cash in HUGE if he comes through! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any picks of your own!

So which 2022 3M Open players should you target or avoid? And which overlooked player is a MUST-BACK? ... Join SportsLine right now to see Patrick McDonald's top picks for the 2022 3M Open Championship, all from the expert who is up more than 58 units on outright plays in 2022, and find out!
