2021 Woodbine Mile morning-line odds, picks: Racing insider offers bet strategy for Saturday's race

Sharp handicapper and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir has had multiple five-figure days at the track and crushed the exacta in the Tampa Bay Derby in March for $1,414. Now he targets the Woodbine Mile 2021 at Woodbine

An automatic entry into the $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile will be on the line when a stellar field of 10 leaves the starting gate in the 2021 Woodbine Mile on Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack. The Chad Brown-trained Raging Bull is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the 2021 Woodbine Mile odds.

Before you make any bets, you NEED to see the latest picks from racing insider and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir. A two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas, Weir has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014. This year, he has crushed the 3-year-old races. He hit the exacta in the Sam F. Davis Stakes, Tampa Bay Derby and Peter Pan Stakes, the trifecta in the Risen Star Stakes and Blue Grass Stakes and the superfecta in the Belmont Stakes. Those are just some of his scores in 2021.

This year's Woodbine Mile has attracted a well accomplished field of some of North America's top grass milers. The most accomplished is the favorite, Raging Bull, who has seven wins in 20 career starts and has earned more than $1.5 million in his career. But he has lost his last two races and finished a disappointing sixth in his last start as the even-money favorite.

While the field has several accomplished horses, it doesn't have many horses with early speed. Town Cruise, a 20-1 long shot, is the likely early pacesetter; he has set the pace in each of his last three starts. A slow early pace could compromise the chances of late runners, such as Raging Bull.

Now, Weir has handicapped the Woodbine Mile 2021 field, made his picks and constructed his bets.

One surprise: Weir's top pick is not Raging Bull, even though he is the 2-1 favorite! "When factoring in the previous loss in the Grade 3 Poker, he might not be where he was this spring," Weir told SportsLine.

Instead, Weir's top pick is a horse who is coming off "another strong race!" He also is high on a double-digit long shot who "has never been better!" Weir is including these horses in his 2021 Woodbine Mile bets, and so should you. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks before locking in any of your own!
