Washington State (7-5) and Central Michigan (8-4) face off in the 2021 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on Friday afternoon. Miami was forced to withdraw from the Sun Bowl due to COVID-19 issues within their team. Central Michigan was scheduled to play Boise State in the 2021 Arizona Bowl but the game was canceled as the Broncos also had COVID-19 issues and had to withdraw. The 2021 Tony the Sun Bowl will take place at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.

Washington State is favored by seven points in the Washington State vs. Central Michigan odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over-Under for total points is set at 57.5. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.) Kickoff is set for noon ET on CBS.

Before you consider your Washington State vs. Central Michigan picks or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,600 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also enters the third week of the 2021-22 college football bowl season on a 43-30 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Washington State sophomore quarterback Jayden de Laura was one of the top quarterbacks in the Pac-12. De Laura completed 64 percent of his passes for 2,751 passing yards. The Hawaii native was ranked first in the Pac-12 in passing yards per game (250.1) and passing touchdowns (23). De Laura also tossed at least three passing touchdowns in five games during the regular season.

The model also knows Central Michigan redshirt freshman running back Lew Nichols III was the top rusher in the MAC. He was first in the conference in carries (311), rushing yards (1,710), and tied for first in rushing touchdowns (15). Nichols III has rushed for more than 100 yards in nine games, including seven straight.
