It's the last chance to pile up FedEx Cup points before the new year, as the PGA Tour heads into its break after the 2021 RSM Classic, which tees off Thursday at Sea Island Golf Club. The event in St. Simons Island, Ga., is the final tournament of the fall segment of the 2021-22 PGA Tour schedule. Robert Streb is the defending champion, winning on the second hole of a playoff with Kevin Kisner last year for his second tour win, and his second at Sea Island.

Scottie Scheffler is the 12-1 favorite in the latest 2021 RSM Classic golf odds from Caesars Sportsbook, followed closely by Webb Simpson (14-1). Cameron Smith (16-1) also is expected to be right in the mix, with Louis Oosthuizen (22-1), Corey Conners (25-1) and Russell Henley (25-1) also among the top contenders in the 2021 RSM Classic field.

Before you lock in any of your Fantasy golf rankings or bet the 2021 RSM Classic, you HAVE TO see what fantasy expert Riley Gates has to say.

Gates is a writer for 247Sports and has covered a range of sports for nearly five years. He has followed golf closely for much longer and has a profound knowledge of the sport. He also knows what it takes to win, on the course and in fantasy sports.

At last week's Houston Open, seven of his picks finished in the top 20, led by Scottie Scheffler, who tied for second.

"Until he starts trending downward, there is no reason to avoid Scheffler," Gates told SportsLine before the 25-year-old went out and fired a second-round 62. He held the lead heading into the final day before Jason Kokrak stormed past with a 5-under 65 to win by two strokes.

Gates has been on a roll this season. The previous week at the World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, five of Gates' top six golfers finished in the top 15, including winner Viktor Hovland. And at the Zozo Championship, five of his 13 favored players finished in the top 10.

Now, Gates has ranked his top 20 golfers for the 2021 RSM Classic. We can tell you he is again strongly behind Scheffler, who has given Gates no reason to doubt him. Scheffler has finished in the top five in consecutive events and has shot in the 60's in eight of his past 12 rounds, including scores of 64 and 62. He is 40 under par over his past three tournaments, and Gates is expecting nothing less than success at Sea Island.

On the other hand, Gates is fading Simpson, even though he is one of the most accomplished players in the field. The seven-time tour winner and 2012 U.S. Open champ has finished in the top 25 once in three events this season. That was in his most recent event, but he has a scoring average over 71, and he appears to be working out some kinks. Simpson is well outside the golf expert's top 10 options for your Fantasy golf picks!

Instead, the fantasy expert has a HUGE long-shot player in his top 10 who comes in at well over 70-1 odds! This player is quietly off to a strong start to his season, regularly shooting in the 60's. He is hitting plenty of fairways and greens, and he could surprise a lot of people this week. He should be a KEY player in your Fantasy golf picks! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is and check out Gates' top picks before you bet the 2021 RSM Classic or enter any Fantasy golf picks.
