"While Christian McCaffrey is unquestionably one of the league's most dynamic playmakers, it's simply not a recipe for success in the modern NFL when your best player happens to be your running back," PropStarz says, in a snippet of his in-depth analysis. "Elsewhere on the roster, the Panthers traded for Sam Darnold, who will take over behind center replacing replacement level starter Teddy Bridgewater. Darnold is still only 23 and had the misfortune of being drafted by the Jets, but showed minimal development to suggest he possesses a ceiling greater than that of an average starting quarterback.

"While Darnold will certainly have the best supporting cast so far in his young career, there are serious concerns with Carolina's offensive line, mainly at left tackle. Cameron Erving was signed in the offseason to be a starter but appears to have already fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. The Panthers are considering moving their right tackle Taylor Moton to protect Darnold's blindside. Moton possesses the ability to play left tackle, but it's not a good sign that he's being asked to switch positions at this stage of his career and also this late into the offseason."
