2021 Keeneland Turf Mile morning-line odds, picks: Racing insider offers bet strategy for Saturday's race

Sharp handicapper and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir has had multiple five-figure days at the track and crushed the exacta in the Tampa Bay Derby in March for $1,414. Now he targets Keeneland Turf Mile 2021 at Keeneland Race Course

Order of Australia returns to the site of his stunning Breeders' Cup Mile victory at 73-1 when he leaves the starting gate on Saturday in the 2021 Keeneland Turf Mile at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kent. Bred in Ireland, Order of Australia shocked the racing world last year when he won the Breeders' Cup race by a neck over a star-studded field. This year he has been installed as the 7-2 morning-line favorite in the 2021 Keeneland Turf Mile odds. Somelikeithotbrown and Pixelate are the co-second choices at 9-2 in the 13-horse Keeneland Turf Mile field. Post time is 5:46 p.m. ET.

Before you make any Keeneland Turf Mile picks or bets, you NEED to see the latest picks from racing insider and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir.

A two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas, Weir has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014. This year, he has crushed the three-year-old races. He hit the exacta in the Sam F. Davis Stakes, Tampa Bay Derby and Peter Pan Stakes, the trifecta in the Risen Star Stakes, Blue Grass Stakes and Pennsylvania Derby and the superfecta in the Belmont Stakes. Those are just some of his scores in 2021.

The $750,000 Keeneland Turf Mile is the marquee race on a loaded 11-race card on Saturday at Keeneland. Formerly known as the Shadwell Turf Mile, the race has drawn a large, 13-horse field. The size of the field could be a disadvantage for the horses drawn to the outside, such as Order of Australia, because they risk losing ground with the relatively short run to the first turn.

Ivar, who is trained by Paulo Lobo, won last year's Keeneland Turf Mile and is back to defend his title. Last year Ivar left the gate at 14-1, ran seventh early and rallied from off the pace to win by a length. The 104 Beyer Speed Figure he earned that day remains the best of his career.

Now, Weir has handicapped the Keeneland Turf Mile 2021 field, made his picks and constructed his bets.

One surprise: Weir is completely fading Somelikeithotbrown, who is the co-second choice on the morning line, at 9-2. Weir does not have Somelikeithotbrown on any of his tickets.

Weir's top pick is a horse whose last race "was not a bad effort." He also is high on a long shot who "might have more." Weir is including these horses in his 2021 Keeneland Turf Mile bets, and so should you. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks before locking in any of your own!
