2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile odds, horses, line: National handicapping champion offers picks for Friday's race

Jonathon Kinchen, who won $366,000 at last year's Breeders' Cup, offers his handicapping analysis and picks for this year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Del Mar

The title of early 2022 Kentucky Derby favorite will be on the line on Friday when many of the country's top two-year-olds leave the starting gate in the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Del Mar. The Chad Brown-trained Jack Christopher was the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile odds, but he was forced to scratch. The Bob Baffert-trained Corniche, who was 5-2 in the Juvenile field, is now the favorite.

Post time for the $2 million race is 7:50 p.m. ET. With an accomplished field ready to enter the starting gate on Friday, you'll want to hear how handicapping champion Jonathon Kinchen has analyzed the race.

Kinchen is one of the nation's most successful and recognizable horseplayers. An analyst for Fox Sports' "America's Day at the Races," Kinchen won the National Horseplayers Championship Tour in 2015, a demanding, yearlong series of handicapping events across the country. And at last year's Breeders' Cup, Kinchen finished second out of 418 contestants in the prestigious Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge, which earned him $215,000 in prize money. After factoring in his profit during the 14 Breeders' Cup races, he took home more than $366,000 on the day.

Anyone who has followed him is up big.

One surprise: For the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Kinchen is completely tossing Corniche, even though he's one of the top favorites and is arguably the West Coast's top contender. He is coming off a 3 1/4-length victory in the American Pharoah Stakes last month at Santa Anita. However, according to multiple track observers, Corniche benefitted from an inside track bias that day, which helped boost his performance. Kinchen prefers three horses over Corniche and will not use him in any wagers.

Kinchen told SportsLine he's putting "all of my money down" on his top pick. Kinchen is also high on a double-digit long shot who "lost a lot of ground" in his last race and would net any backer a huge payday. Kinchen is including these horses in his wagering, and so should you. You NEED to see Kinchen's analysis before making any Breeders' Cup Juvenile picks of your own.
