As swimming starts taking its final laps, Olympics track and field is breaking from the starting blocks in the coming days at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Team USA has plenty of medal hopefuls remaining in Olympics 2020 swimming. They include favorite Michael Andrew in Thursday night's men's 200 individual medley and sprinter Caeleb Dressel, who is the favorite in two more men's events after taking gold in Wednesday's 100-meter freestyle final.

Team USA will be represented in sports all over Japan on Thursday night and Friday morning, with women's beach volleyball in action at 8 p.m. ET and the men playing on the beach Friday morning at 9 a.m. USA Baseball (6 a.m. ET vs. Israel) and USWNT soccer (7 a.m. vs. Netherlands) also will draw plenty of attention. (Head over to our 2021 Olympics page for more analysis and updates)

William Hill Sportsbook lists Andrew as the -137 favorite for Thursday's men's 200 individual medley final (10:16 p.m. ET) in its latest 2020 Tokyo Olympic odds. Dressel is the -700 favorite in the men's 100 butterfly, which has its semifinals Thursday night (9:30 p.m.) and the -450 top choice in the 50-meter freestyle, with heats Friday morning (6 a.m). Team USA also will swim in heats Friday (8:10 a.m.) for the men's 4x100 medley relay and enters as the -200 favorite. Before you lock in any 2020 Tokyo Olympics picks or predictions, you really need to see what SportsLine's Olympics expert, Mike Tierney, has to say.

A national sportswriter whose work appears in The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, Tierney has covered nine Olympic Games in person. In the past two Olympic Games, his advice helped those who followed him cash in big, and he already has nailed a winner at Tokyo 2020.

Before Sunday's men's triathlon, Tierney tabbed Norway's Kristian Blummenfelt as his choice to win gold, and that bet paid off big at +600. The Olympics expert saw good value in the Norwegian, who had won twice this year and was the 2019 Grand Final champion.

"When an event is as wide open as the guys' three-in-one sport, look for a price and go with the hot hand." Tierney told SportsLine.

The 27-year-old Blummenfelt was in disbelief as he pulled away from the younger runners in the final stages to win by 11 seconds over Alex Yee for his nation's first medal in the sport. But picking a winner was nothing new for Tierney.

At the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018, he nailed Suzanne Schulting (+2500) of the Netherlands and Norway's Havard Lorentzen (+800) to triumph in speed skating and the USA's Mikaela Shiffrin (+185) to win the giant slalom. Tierney also took the Under (10.5) on the Americans' gold-medal count, and that also cashed as the USA came in with nine.

And at the Rio 2016 Summer Games, Tierney told readers to bet Over on Team USA's gold medal count (41.5) and Over on Team USA's overall medal count (102.5). The result? 46 golds, 121 medals and two easy cashes. Anyone who followed Tierney's advice cashed in huge!

Now, Tierney has been studying the 2020 Olympics event schedule and digging down into the individual sports. He has released FOUR confident best bets, all paying better than 3-1.

Tierney is predicting a huge shock in Olympics 2020 swimming, fading Team USA in the 4x100 medley relay. The Americans have never failed to win gold in the event, but the foursome picked for the 4x200 free relay finished fourth to become the first U.S. team in Olympic history to fail to medal at all. The 4x100 free relay team took gold on Sunday with Caeleb Dressel in the lineup, and he should swim the freestyle leg of this one. But he is focused on winning gold in the sprints.

Tierney expects another huge upset, because the Americans weren't really in the race Tuesday night. Dressel and backstroker Ryan Murphy are strong, but the three teams that finished ahead of them have plenty of firepower too. Tierney has found great value because of USA Swimming's history in this event, and his choice will bring a nice payday. He also has released three other CONFIDENT picks in different competitions.

All his best bets return higher than 3-1, so you ABSOLUTELY have to see Tierney's analysis and who he is picking before you make any 2020 Olympics picks or Tokyo 2020 swimming predictions of your own.
