Today's top picks: Why Texas will cover against Oklahoma and more college football and MLB expert bets for Saturday, Oct. 9

Allan Bell is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure, Justin Perri and Micah Roberts on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for college football and the Major League Baseball playoffs for Saturday, Oct. 9.

Bell starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day: Ohio State (-21) to cover against Maryland (noon ET). "Essentially a lot of this comes down to Ohio State being probably the healthiest that they've been all season coupling with their offense clicking on all cylinders," he says.

Perri has two picks from the MLB playoffs. The first is the Braves (+105) on the first five moneyline against the Brewers (5:07 p.m. ET). "I'm really backing [Atlanta starter] Max Fried here," he says. "He's been incredible in his postseason career so far."

Perri also likes the Dodgers (-110) on the first five moneyline against the Giants (9:07 p.m. ET). "[Los Angeles starter Julio Urias] has been an animal in the postseason," he says.

Roberts has two picks, one in baseball and one in college football. He likes Under 7.5 runs in the Braves-Brewers NLDS game, mostly because of Fried. "His last five starts have been amazing," he says. "The braves won them all, and he only allowed five [earned] runs over that span."

He also likes Texas (+3) to cover against Oklahoma (noon ET). "One team is executing. That is Texas," he says. "One team is not: Oklahoma."

McClure's pair of picks comes in college football. The first is Under 32.5 points in the first half of the Texas-Oklahoma game. "I don't think the defenses are as bad as we think they are," he says.

McClure closes out The Early Edge with Under 33 points in the first half of the Arkansas-Ole Miss game (noon ET). "I like these two teams to also try to limit the early mistake in this game as they're both coming off their worst loss of the season," he says.
