Today's picks: Multiple Yankees-Red Sox AL Wild Card Game best bets, plus more college football and NFL picks for Tuesday

Mike reveals that there is no more important time of the year for him than the MLB playoffs. Matt says we are now in the midst of the best month on the sports calendar. Mike then takes a detailed look at key injuries in the AL Wild Card Game, with first pitch between the Yankees and Red Sox set for 8:08 p.m. ET. The status of J.D, Martinez could be a pivotal issue for Boston. 

The SportsLine Play of the Day is the Yankees and Red Sox Over eight runs, as Gerrit Cole's recent starts have indicated this will be a quality play. 

Mike is taking the Yankees at -120 and maintains strong confidence in Cole. "I think he's going to be fine and turn it on for the one-game playoff," he says. "He's going to have a lot of leash, Cole is going to go out and pitch very well. This is what they brought him in for, this exact scenario." Mike tells us why Cole is a more comfortable starter on the road, and adds that the New York bullpen gives it a clear edge. 

Matt is also on the Yankees at -120, as they have the clear edge in the pitching matchup. In college football, he is taking Iowa -2 over Penn State on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. This may be a low-scoring game, but home-field advantage will tip the decision in favor of the Hawkeyes. 

Justin is going with New York over Boston in the first five innings at -120. He reveals a strong trend that backs Cole in the first five innings. His favorite prop plays are Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo Over 0.5 hits. Judge has consistently hit on the prop recently, and Rizzo has a good history vs. Nathan Eovaldi. 

Zack looks ahead to Thursday night in the NFL, riding with the Seahawks +2.5 over the Rams at 8:20 p.m. ET. He points to Russell Wilson's stellar numbers in Thursday night games, both straight up and vs. the NFC West.
