I’m backing the over in Netherlands vs. Sweden for a couple of reasons. First, the Netherlands play a really high line, and there’s some fragility there. Whether it’s tracking runners or recovering in transition, they can be exposed. We saw Japan get in behind this back line twice in the second half, and that was concerning. Sweden have their own defensive issues, both through qualification and in the friendlies leading into the tournament. But more importantly, both attacks have been efficient. The Dutch can score with the best of them with Donyell Malen and Cody Gakpo, while Viktor Gyökeres and Alexander Isak looked lethal in the first game. I like BTTS too, but I want 3-0 on my side. Give me the over.
Sweden showed their offensive prowess with a 5-1 thumping of Tunisia in the group-stage opener. Sweden's attack is spearheaded by two of the Premier League's top strikers in Liverpool's Alexander Isak and Arsenal's Viktor Gyökeres, both of whom found the back of the net against Tunisia. The Netherlands also boast a potent attack capable of producing quality in the final third, and the Dutch's backline proved to be vulnerable in their 2-2 draw against Japan. This match could go a long way in determining who tops Group F, so I expect we'll see an entertaining affair with plenty of goals.
