This game kicks off at 11 a.m. ET in the Myrtle Beach area, and let me say that sometimes the, um, distractions of Myrtle Beach can make mornings a little groggy. A slow start, plus some key opt outs for both teams -- especially Ohio starting QB Kurtis Rourke, should lead to a lower scoring game.

This line has flipped after a mass exodus by Ohio skill position players -- the top QB, the top three rushers and two of the top three receivers. Plus, the next most experienced QB is rehabbing an injury. Conversely, the Georgia Southern QB will feel right at home. Davis Brin earned the Myrtle Bowl's MVP Award while at Tulsa. The Bobcats' defense might be far superior to the Eagles'. In bowl games, however, offenses rule, and Georgia Southern's has more wild cards in its hand.

The Bobcats are down multiple starters heading into kickoff, so it’s hard to trust a team that, otherwise, would probably be favorites over the Eagles. Both of these teams will struggle to move the football, but Eagles’ quarterback Davis Brin’s high-risk, high-reward style of play will lead to enough big plays to make things difficult for a limited Bobcats team.

Myrtle Beach Bowl. Bowls are so challenging to bet now because of guys transferring or simply opting out. Christian McCaffrey started all this many years ago, at least the opting out part to prepare for the draft. Ohio is the better team easily at full strength but is down its top two QBs, top two RBs, top two WRs and second-leading tackler. I think the Bobcats mascot, Rufus, is even in the portal.
