Look, I'm a Sparty fan. I don't think they can win this game. But this total has gotten to the point where I have to act. Mel Tucker will run, run, run Kenneth Walker III all game to keep that blistering OSU offense off the field. MSU ranks last in the nation in pass defense, so CJ Stroud may wrap up the Heisman today. That said, I don't think the Nuts are scoring more than 40 and Michigan State more than 30.
In RB Kenneth Walker III’s three heaviest workload games, he carried 30, 29 and 27 times. The opponents scored 21, 13 and 17 points. He is the answer to keeping Ohio State’s hellacious offense off the field enough to gift-wrap a cover. Michigan State has been underestimated by the public all year, as its 7-1-2 ATS record attests, and the Walker-led Spartans can post a sufficient number of scoring plays to stay within the spread.
The Under has hit in the last five meetings at Ohio Stadium and five of the last six overall. But Michigan State didn’t have the worst pass defense in the nation in any of those and something tells me Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, is going to have a big day through the air. But I also expect Michigan State’s Heisman candidate, Kenneth Walker III, to stack his resume. Look for both teams to score often. Over is the top play Saturday.
Ohio State and Purdue just got done scoring 90 points combined last week. And that involved a competent Purdue defense. Michigan State comes in with the worst passing defense in FBS and faces QB CJ Stroud and three future NFL receivers. The Spartans' offense is going to get its share as well. These teams should pass this number before the third quarter ends.
