One of the most prestigious positions in all of college football is starting quarterback at The Ohio State University. With Justin Fields, the Buckeyes' starter for the last two seasons, now in the NFL competing to be the starter for the Chicago Bears, the job is once again open. With the news that decorated recruit Quinn Ewers is forgoing his senior season at Texas high school football powerhouse Southlake Carroll to enroll early at Ohio State, there is now four players competing in training camp to be the team's starter for the Buckeyes' 2021 season opener.

The 2021 Ohio State football schedule opens on Thursday, September 2 with a road game against the University of Minnesota. Whichever quarterback ultimately wins the job will walk into an ideal situation with plenty of talent surrounding him and instantly enter 2021 Heisman Trophy contention.

The odds to be the starting quarterback for Ohio State in the Buckeyes' season opener are as follows:

    C.J. Stroud -300

Stroud is the early front-runner and heavy favorite to be Ohio State's starting quarterback in 2021. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound redshirt freshman attempted once pass in 2020 resulting in a 48-yard touchdown pass.

    Kyle McCord +240

McCord is a true freshman who has been in Columbus since January. The 6-foot-3, 210 pounder was a five-star prospect and the No. 28 overall prospect in the country in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports

    Quinn Ewers +325

Ewers is arguably the most hyped quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence. The Texas high school star is another five-star prospect and the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports.

    Jack Miller +1600

Miller is yet another young quarterback who had his pick of colleges to attend out of high school, but the Scottsdale, Ariz. native faces long odds to be the Buckeyes starter in 2021.
