Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Todd's Analysis:

Montreal has shown their inexperience through the first two games of the series but with a bounce here or there this thing could be knotted at 1 a piece. While I don't think Montreal has enough to erase a 2-0 deficit I do believe this young roster can feed off the home crowd today and get in the win column. Last change should prove to be a big advantage for the Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkosky line. I know we missed the best of the number but anything +100 or better is worth a bet

Bruce's Analysis:

The first two games were conducted on a knife's edge, requiring OT in Game One and only miraculously avoiding another OT in Game 2 when Jake Evens hit the post from point-blank range in the third period. Washington is not outskating Montreal and the offense has been mostly quelled while having problems solving Sam Montembeault; of the six Caps goals scored across the first two games, one came in OT and another was an empty-netter. Logan Thompson in goal kept the Caps afloat in Game 2, but can he do the same at Bell Centre, which hosts its first playoff game with a houseful of fans since 2017 (remember the 2021 playoffs had only limited attendance during the Covid days)?
