2020 NFL MVP odds: William Hill bettors jumping on Josh Allen and Kyler Murray
The two players taking the most action at William Hill sportsbook on the 2020 NFL MVP odds likely will surprise many.

A quarterback is almost surely going to win NFL MVP in the 2020 regular season – assuming there is one – as a signal-caller has won MVP seven straight years and 12 of the past 13. Quarterbacks also are the Top 10 favorites at William Hill sportsbook.
So, while it's no surprise that two quarterbacks are taking the most action at the site in early betting, it may shock many to know that they are Arizona's Kyler Murray and Buffalo's Josh Allen. What do both young guys have in common? Their teams acquired a Pro Bowl receiver this offseason.
The Cardinals landed arguably the NFL's best wideout in DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans in an utter theft that cost Arizona just past-his-prime running back David Johnson and two draft picks – neither a first-rounder. Buffalo, meanwhile, gave up much more – including the team's 2020 first-rounder – to acquire Stefon Diggs (very good player but not Hopkins) from the Minnesota Vikings.
Murray, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, currently has the fifth-lowest odds to win 2020 NFL MVP at +2000 along with, ironically, Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson. He was less-than-thrilled, to say the least, that the Texans traded his top target. Murray currently leads all players on the MVP prop in taking 12 percent of tickets issued, and the former Heisman winner and 2019 No. 1 overall pick is third in total dollars wagered at 14 percent.
Allen, meanwhile, remains rather raw as a passer as he completed just 58.8 percent of his throws last season, but he still vastly improved from his 2018 rookie campaign. He's also perhaps the second-best running quarterback in the NFL behind reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. Priced at +5000, Allen is taking a league-high 22 percent of all money wagered on this prop and is second to Murray with eight percent of all tickets issued on him.
The Cardinals have never had an NFL MVP, while the Bills have had two and both running backs: OJ Simpson in 1973 and Thurman Thomas in 1991. Both are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Buffalo is set to visit Arizona in the 2020 regular season, with the NFL schedule due out by May 9.
