Early on Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said this: "We haven't picked a skill player in the first round in 15 years, so that would be kind of cool." Rodgers likely won't be thrilled with this pick since it won't help the Packers this year.
Love has the prototypical size at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds and a huge arm. But he isn't all that mobile and his decision-making has been questioned after leading the FBS with 17 interceptions last year. Love was much better for Utah State in 2018.
The only other quarterback in the Common Draft Era to lead FBS in interceptions in his final season and get drafted in the first round was a guy named Dan Marino (23 picks as a senior at Pitt). That worked out pretty well.
