Heat vs. Celtics Monday NBA injury report, Game 4 spread, odds: Tyler Herro out, but Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry will play; Marcus Smart, Robert Williams still questionable

Miami will be without NBA Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro for Game 4 in Boston on Monday.

The official NBA injury report for Monday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics from TD Garden is quite long, but here's what we know as of this writing: NBA Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro is out but every other Heat player, led by the starting backcourt of Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry, expects to play even though about half the roster is listed on the report. We don't yet know whether Celtics starting guard Marcus Smart, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and center Robert Williams will go. Boston, down 2-1 in the series, is currently -6 at Caesars Sportsbook. (See tickets at StubHub)

Herro was terrific in the regular season in averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, and he was a runaway winner of the Sixth Man Award, the first player to win it with the Heat. Herro became the fifth player to average at least 20.0 points off the bench (minimum 50 games as a reserve) since starts began being tracked in the 1970-71 season. His eight 30-point games off the bench were tied for the third most since the 1970-71 season.

Things have been much different in the postseason as Herro – who is currently dealing with a groin injury – is averaging just 13.5 points per game and shooting a gruesome 23.2 percent from deep (39.9 percent during the regular season). He is 1-for-14 from three-point range in the first three games of this series.

With Herro out, Coach Erik Spoelstra may dust off Duncan Robinson, who started 68 regular-season games but has fallen out of the playoff rotation. Miami likely needs his three-point shooting, although Robinson's terrible defense has kept him plastered to the bench. Robinson has totaled 83 postseason three-point field goals as a member of the Heat, the fourth-most in team history. Herro has 70, tied for the eighth-most.

Smart is listed as questionable with a sprained right ankle and Williams with right knee soreness. Celtics beat writers expect Smart to play but at clearly less than 100 percent. He missed Game 1 but is averaging 20.0 points, 9.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds in the two games in the series. There are Smart props up for tonight: Over/Under 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

Williams has missed a handful of games in these playoffs with that knee issue and didn't play in Game 3 – which the Heat surprisingly won 109-103 in Boston. It's not a coincidence that the Heat outscored the Celtics 48-34 in the paint without Williams' shot-blocking. There are no Williams props listed.
