So what I like about us being able to do unit sizes -- insert Michael Scott quote here -- isn't so much that I'm changing my patterns as showing my confidence level in a pick. I spend $50 at Wawa simply if they somehow have Bartles & Jaymes Exotic Berry wine cooler cases in stock, so I'm not too worried about the cash. But don't we have to take the far superior team at home for a little even against the ace of the worst offense in baseball? Answer: Yes. Again, I bet different. Whatever entertains me.
We have picked on the White Sox, for good reason, these first few weeks of the season. At 3-15, and with just 37 runs scored across those 18 efforts (and 19 of the runs bunched in three of the games), we plead guilty. But a 2-1 win over KC in the nightcap of Wednesday's twin bill is hardly a buy signal, and Garrett Crochet's early good form on the mound has disappeared in back-to-back efforts. The Phils are capable of inflicting real damage at home, and ex-Tiger Spencer Turnbull has experience vs. better Chisox lineups than this current edition. Note Philly has also won in Turnbull's first three starts. Play Phillies on Run Line
The White Sox will deploy their best starter in Garrett Crochet. As good as he has been, the White Sox are just 1-3 in the games that he has started. Their lineup has been dreadful, averaging 2.1 runs per game for the season. That has resulted in them posting a 3-15 record. The Phillies have a much more dangerous lineup and will be rolling with a serviceable starter in Spencer Turnbull. I’ll pay the juice and take the Phillies to win.
I figured the books were going to start jacking up the price on the worst hitter in the majors by far, so this might be our last go-round. Thanks for the $$$ Marty! I don't want anyone to lose their job, but what is the point of the White Sox continually running this offensive black hole out there most games? I have scored as many runs and knocked as many in this season in the Show as Marty has. Remember how funny it used to be when Bartolo Colon would hit? Maldonado has gone from funny to Old Yeller sad ... but betting has no empathy.
