Corbin Burnes struck out 11 in his Orioles debut on Opening Day and the Royals are an above-average strikeout team (24%, which is 11th in MLB right now). I'm not sure Burnes can get to double digits again, as that's always a tall order, but we only need seven to get home. He'll get there in the fifth inning. Burnes faced the Royals once last year and struck out seven.
This may well get rained out and it is Royals ace Cole Ragans scheduled, but it's also Orioles ace and AL Cy Young favorite Corbin Burnes, and I struggle to see the O's lose two in a row at home to this team. The Baltimore bullpen basically got reset (at least the key guys) in Tuesday's defeat if there was one positive -- we were wise to not trust Orioles starter Cole Irvin and stay away. The Royals maybe rest a key hitter as they have not had a day off since last Friday and fly out after to KC to play Thursday in the home opener. The Orioles are off Thursday so they shouldn't need to sit anyone.
