The Rangers roll into Oakland riding a six game win streak, after sweeping the White Sox and Marlins in Texas. Now facing Ken Waldichuk, Texas is guaranteed nine at bats and they feature an .806 OPS vs LHP since the All Star Break. Even without star rookie Josh Jung tonight, they should put up runs. Waldichuk has failed to last five innings in any start or relief appearance since May 19th and asking the A's bullpen to cover four or five innings isn't a recipe for success. Dane Dunning is coming off one of the best starts of his career, with 11 K's in 7.2 innings of one run ball, but he struggled in July with a 5.06 ERA. It looks like he's righted the ship and can lead the Rangers to victory with another strong start.

Look for Texas to stay hot behind Dane Dunning, who owns a 3.14 ERA and comes off a dominant outing versus the White Sox in which he fanned 11 over 7.2 innings. A's lefty Ken Waldichuk has not lasted more than five innings in any start this season; he'll turn it over to MLB's worst bullpen (5.53 ERA). The Rangers should have success early, too, as they own an .830 OPS against southpaws, second-best in MLB. Texas has scored 39 runs during its current six-game win streak (6.5 runs per game).

The Rangers have won six straight games and will head to Oakland to begin a 3 game series against the A's. Texas is currently 2.5 games up in the AL West and will look to take care of business against an A's team with a 32-80 record. Dane Dunning is on the mound for Texas and the 4th year veteran possesses a 9-4 record along with a sterling 3.14 ERA. Dunning will be opposed by Ken Waldichuk who has a 6.52 ERA. The Rangers have been excellent versus opposing southpaws this season and currently have an OPS of .831 against lefties. I like Texas to stay hot and roll in this matchup.
