The wOBA model isn't very optimistic about Tyler Beede in his MLB debut. Sure, he gets a great pitching environment at AT&T, but he was so bad at AAA and hasn't made enough changes to think he will succeed at this level. The Diamondbacks should give him a nice welcome to the league. Lay it with the road favorites.
Johnny Cueto had problems with blisters last year, derailing his season. In 2016 Cueto was 18-5 for the Giants with an ERA of 2.79. Cueto looks like the 2016 version. I think the Diamondbacks have over achieved early in the season and the line is reflecting a small sample size of early success. Arizona also benefits offensively from the cozy confines of Chase Field. Even with the humidor, the D-Backs have scored 33 runs in just six games but in their three road games they scored a total of 10. Last but not least, I like the Giants offense versus lefties better than righties. Play on San Fran.
Patrick Corbin has been amazing this season, winning both starts, but this will be his first road start. He's traditionally been much better at home. He's going to have to deal with 8 mph winds blowing out to center-field. However, the Giants are hitting just .239 and averaging 2.8 runs a game. Tyler Beede makes his MLB debut for the Giants tonight. Last season Beede had a 4.79 ERA, giving up 14 homers in 109 innings, at Triple-A Sacramento and he gave up 10 runs in 8.1 innings this spring for the Giants. The play is on the first-place Diamondbacks to keep rolling.
