WNBA odds, lines, picks: Proven experts reveal parlay for Aug. 2 that would pay almost 6-1

Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai went 590-430 on their women's NCAA basketball picks last season, and now they are focused on the WNBA. They have identified a three-leg parlay for Tuesday that would pay almost 6-1

The Los Angeles Sparks (12-17) attempt to halt their three-game slide and strengthen their hold on a WNBA postseason berth when they visit the New York Liberty (11-18) on Tuesday, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. Los Angeles occupies the eighth and final playoff spot but is just a half-game ahead of Atlanta and one in front of both New York and Minnesota. The Sparks and Liberty meet again in New York on Wednesday.

The game is one of four on Tuesday's WNBA schedule. Caesars Sportsbook lists New York as a 3.5-point favorite in the latest Liberty vs. Sparks odds, and the over/under for total points scored is 161.5.

Before you make any WNBA picks or parlays, you NEED to see what women's basketball experts Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai are saying.

Barzilai is a Ph.D. from Stanford who served as Director of Basketball Analytics for the Philadelphia 76ers. Five years ago, he founded HerHoopStats.com -- a groundbreaking website that unlocks insights about the women's game. Wetzel, the site's lead betting writer, incorporates his mathematical background and strong knowledge of women's hoops to turn the site's prediction model into picks.

Now, Barzilai and Wetzel have turned their attention to the WNBA after going 590-430 overall (+127.40 units, +13.6 percent) during the 2021-22 women's college basketball season. Anyone who has followed them has seen HUGE returns.

Wetzel and Barzilai have scoured the rosters and broken down the matchups for Tuesday's games. They have revealed a three-leg parlay that could lead to a payout of almost 6-1.

We can tell you that one part of the parlay is the Washington Mystics (+3.5) covering the spread in their game against the Las Vegas Aces. The Western Conference-leading Aces are riding a four-game winning streak but have lost both of their previous meetings of the season with Washington.

The experts have two other strong plays that MUST be in your three-leg parlays, including an underdog that should be backed. You ABSOLUTELY need to see the experts' selections before locking in any WNBA picks or parlays.

So which underdog is a MUST-BACK? And what other picks are the experts sharing? ... Join SportsLine right now to find out which picks you should be all over on Tuesday, all from the experts who know the women's game inside and out!

Here are Wetzel and Barzilai's best bets for Tuesday's WNBA schedule:

    LAS VEGAS ACES at WASHINGTON MYSTICS | 8/2 | 7 P.M. ET

    Pick: Mystics +3.5

The Mystics' defense has been their calling card all season and has been particularly strong in the paint, where Aces MVP candidate A'ja Wilson does a lot of damage. It's why Washington already owns two wins over Las Vegas, and the third could be coming in this game.

Given home court and a clean bill of health across the roster (something that has only very recently become the norm), the Mystics shouldn't be getting more than a possession here. They probably shouldn't be getting more than a point, so if you can get them here or on a money line at plus odds, take the value.

LOS ANGELES SPARKS at NEW YORK LIBERTY | 8/2 | 7 P.M. ET

    Pick: Liberty -3.5

New York and Los Angeles are part of a huge logjam of teams – half of the league – fighting for the final three playoff spots, so this game will be pivotal. The Liberty can be pretty hit-or-miss in terms of betting, thanks mostly to their high volume of 3-point shooting, which leads to a lot of variance.

The good news in this matchup is that Los Angeles' defense allows the fourth-highest 3-point rate and highest 3-point percentage in the league. That means New York should be getting plenty of clean looks. We just need to avoid a total cold spell in that department in order to get a cover.

    PHOENIX MERCURY at CONNECTICUT SUN | 8/2 | 7 P.M. ET

    Pick: Mercury +12.5

This line may be a little inflated due to Phoenix's blowout loss at New York on Sunday. However, that was the opener of its three-game string in the Eastern Time Zone, and it had an early tip-off. Those situations have not been kind to teams visiting from the western part of the country.

By the time this contest begins, the Mercury should have had plenty of time to adjust their body clocks, so this is a nice spot for a rebound. The Sun deserve to be heavy favorites, but any double-digit number here is just too high.
