William Hill bettors more bullish on Denver Broncos' win total than any other team in NFL

No team in the NFL is taking more action on over its win total at William Hill sportsbook than the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos finished 7-9 last season under first-year coach Vic Fangio, the former defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, but the Broncos weren't that far from being a Wild-Card contender with four of those losses by four points or fewer. For 2020, Denver has an Over-Under win total of 7.5 at William Hill sportsbook, and bettors are simply crushing the Over.

Last year in Week 2 at home, the Broncos were the victims of an awful call from the referees with one second remaining that led to Chicago's game-winning 53-yard field goal as time expired. In Week 4 also in Denver, the Broncos lost 26-24 to Jacksonville on a 33-yard field goal as time expired. Week 8 at Indianapolis was a 15-13 defeat on a 51-yard Colts field goal with 22 seconds left. And Week 11 at the Vikings, Denver blew a 20-0 halftime lead and lost 27-23.

Once the Broncos activated rookie QB Drew Lock off injured reserve and put him in the starting lineup, they won four of their final five games in leading to a ton of optimism for 2020. Plus, the Broncos surrounded Lock with some serious offensive talent this offseason in free-agent running back Melvin Gordon and receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler in the draft.

William Hill lists Denver with a win total of 7.5, with a whopping 99 percent of all money on the Over. If that type of lean continues, the book will have almost no choice but to put it at 8. That Over is the only NFL win total on either side at the sportsbook to reach 99 percent of a lean in total dollars wagered or total number of tickets.

The Broncos' win total has generated 33 percent of the total number of tickets and 49 percent of the total dollars wagered for all AFC West win total bets. One bettor in Nevada put down $9,756 on Over 7.5 at -125, and that's the largest win total wager at William Hill sportsbook of any team thus far. It would return $17,560.80.

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are tied for the highest NFL win total at 11.5, and bettors are leaning 79 percent Over on money wagered. The Raiders are given a win total of 7.5 for their first season in Las Vegas and are taking the only Under lean in the AFC West on total money wagered at 53 percent.

Finally, the Los Angeles Chargers are the lone club in the AFC West to have seen their win total change, going from 7.5 to 8. Eighty-two percent of all money wagered on the Bolts has been on the Over.
