Alexander Volkanovski will make the second defense of his featherweight belt on Saturday against top-ranked contender Brian Ortega in the main event of UFC 266. The main UFC 266 fight card is set for 10 p.m. ET from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Volkanovski (22-1) is a five-year UFC veteran whose lone professional MMA defeat came more than eight years ago. He defeated celebrated former champion Max Holloway to take the title and also won a disputed split decision against Holloway in a rematch last year.
Now, he moves on to face the dangerous Ortega (15-1-1), who has long been hailed as a future champion, but was turned away by Holloway in lopsided fashion in his first title bid in December 2018. Injuries and other setbacks have delayed his career, but he is still getting another title shot.
