Host Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Alex "PropStarz" Selesnick and Martin Green on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball, golf and soccer for Friday, Aug. 26.
PropStarz gets us started with a play on Cubs left starter Justin Steele tonight in a series opener at Milwaukee: "Steele has been one of the lone bright spots in the Cubs rotation and has gotten better and better as the season has progressed. He has seen his ERA drop in each month since the beginning of the year and has only surrendered two or more earned runs in just one appearances over his last seven starts. Steele's strikeout numbers have also improved on a monthly basis and he has eclipsed this line in seven of his last 11 starts. The Brewers' lineup averages 8.95 strikeouts per game, good for the fifth-most in the league. Milwaukee have especially struggled against opposing southpaws -- its 26.1% K rate against lefties is the third-highest rate in baseball."
Martin likes Manchester United on a three-way moneyline (-125) Saturday vs. Southampton from the English Premier League: "United shocked everyone by beating Liverpool 2-1 on Monday and that should bring the side confidence. If they bring the same type of intensity they did vs. Liverpool, they should beat the Saints, who have lost 10 of their past 15 EPL matches overall."
Coach throws in three head-to-head golf plays from Round 2 of the Tour Championship: Adam Scott over Scott Stallings (-150), Collin Morikawa over Jordan Spieth (-130), and Aaron Wise over Sam Burns (-125).
Finally, the Jeweler's Gem at +396: Nebraska-Northwestern Under 50.5 points as college football season kicks off Saturday from Ireland, Charlotte +7.5 at FAU in Conference USA action, and the Baltimore Ravens to continue their amazing preseason winning streak by beating the Commanders on Saturday.
