Stars vs. Oilers odds, 2023-24 NHL lines: Advanced computer model reveals hockey picks for Saturday's Game 2 matchup

The SportsLine Projection Model has a pick for Saturday's NHL Western Conference Final Game 2 matchup between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers look to improve to a 2-0 series lead when they battle the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Final on Saturday. Tyler Seguin tied Game 1 up 2-2 with 3:23 to go in the third period, but it was the Oilers who came out on top as Connor McDavid scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime. Dallas topped Edmonton in most categories in that game but went 0-for-5 on the power play as Jake Oettinger made 35 saves on 38 shots.

Opening faceoff at American Airlines Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Dallas is a -138 favorite (risk $138 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Stars vs. Oilers odds from SportsLine consensus while Edmonton is a +116 underdog. The over/under for total goals scored is 5.5 and Dallas is a -1.5 (+180) favorite on the puck line. (See the latest lines for every game on our NHL odds page).

Before making any Stars vs. Oilers picks, you NEED to see the latest NHL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

SportsLine's model simulates every NHL game 10,000 times, taking into account factors like current form, individual matchups, injuries and short- and long-term trends when making NHL picks. It entered the 2024 NHL playoffs on a 7-4 run on top-rated puck-line picks.

The model knows how big that win in Game 1 was for Edmonton, and the Oilers won't be easy to keep down. This is the best chance McDavid has had in his career at getting to the Stanley Cup Final, and he showed his will to get there as he led all forwards with 27:04 minutes of ice time and ended the night with a goal and an assist. Thursday's game was also a huge boost for Stuart Skinner, who was viewed as the inferior goalie heading into Game 1.

However, the model also knows how close Game 1 was and isn't counting the Stars out of the fight. Dallas also lost the first game of Round 2 in overtime to the Colorado Avalanche before rebounding in Game 2 and winning that series in six games. Oettinger had another solid outing and Dallas' defense will aim to tighten up even more to keep McDavid and the Oilers' top six out of the Stars' zone.

Now, the model has set its sights on Stars vs. Oilers. We can tell you it's leaning Over on the goal total, but it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NHL picks of your own.

So who wins Oilers vs. Stars on Saturday, and which side of the money line has ALL the value? ... Join SportsLine right now to find out which side of the Oilers vs. Stars money line you should be all over, all from the model that has simulated this matchup 10,000 times!
