SportsLine Members Help Raise Nearly $12,000 For March Of Dimes

SportsLine donated a portion of every new subscription between March 18 and March 21 to March of Dimes, helping the historic organization in its mission to build brighter futures for moms and babies everywhere.

Premature birth is the largest contributor to infant death in the U.S. and globally. In Tennessee, for example, one in nine babies is born prematurely each year. March of Dimes works to improve the health of moms and babies everywhere, and SportsLine joined the fight this March.

For every new subscription sold between March 18 and March 21 -- the first full day of March Madness -- SportsLine donated a portion to March of Dimes. Plus, SportsLine encouraged current members to donate to this very worthy cause. The result? $11,972 in donations!

"We're grateful and excited to have partnered with SportsLine," said Michelle Hankes, executive director of market development for March of Dimes Tennessee. "One in nine of our babies here in Tennessee is born prematurely, and that's just not acceptable. The generosity, passion and commitment of SportsLine and its members will be a tremendous factor driving the success of our Nashville March for Babies event on April 13 and supporting the health of moms and babies here and across the country."

It's not too late to get involved. Contribute here, enabling the March of Dimes to tackle the biggest health threats facing moms and babies.

Last year, SportsLine members helped raise more than $10,000 for two amazing organizations: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Then in 2019, SportsLine partnered with March of Dimes, the organization that pioneered the vaccine research leading to the eradication of polio in the U.S. and came up with innovations like newborn screening, surfactant therapy and emphasizing folic acid. Today March of Dimes funds lifesaving research, provides comfort and support to families in NICUs, and focuses on reducing birth defects and premature births.

In addition to the fundraising drive, SportsLine participated in the April 13 March for Babies -- a two-mile walk starting at Nissan Stadium in Nashville that drew more than 7,000 participants and raised $700,000.
