No. 12 Ole Miss vs. LSU line, odds: Advanced computer model makes spread pick for SEC showdown

The LSU Tigers will play their first game since announcing that they will part ways with coach Ed Orgeron at the end of the season when they take on the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels in the SEC on CBS game on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. The Tigers (4-3, 2-2 in SEC) are coming off a 49-42 victory over Florida but are just 9-8 since winning the national championship in 2019. Meanwhile the Rebels (5-1, 2-1) are coming off a 31-26 victory at Tennessee. Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral is questionable as he deals with an ankle injury.

Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. ET. The Rebels are nine-point favorites in the latest Ole Miss vs. LSU odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over/Under for total points scored is 77. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.)

Before making any LSU vs. Ole Miss picks and college football predictions, see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,700 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also enters Week 8 of the 2021 season on a 22-9 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows that Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral is having another excellent season. A 6-foot-2 junior from Ventura, Calif., Corral leads the SEC and ranks third in the country in total offense (363.0 yards per game). He also ranks in the top 10 in the nation in passing efficiency (169.2), points responsible for (134) and yards per pass attempt (9.39).

The model also knows that LSU is coming off its best rushing performance of the season. In the victory over Florida, the Tigers gashed the Gators for 321 rushing yards. Junior running back Tyrion Davis-Price led the team with 287 rushing yards and was named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week.

Now the model has simulated Ole Miss vs. LSU 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Under the total, and it says one side of the spread covers well over 50 percent of the time. You absolutely need to see it before locking in your own picks.
