Are we kind of already up against it from the get go? I mean, even the band Survivor didn't last that long. Eye Of The Tiger spent roughly six to seven weeks atop the charts, and that was the biggest hit the band ever had. Six or seven weeks in football survivor contests in 2026 feels like an eternity. Heck, hanging around for that long might even win it this season.
Through just the first two weeks of the 2026 NFL season, roughly 60% of the fields, or more, has been eliminated in all Survivor contests just about anywhere. That is unprecedented territory since the advent of Circa Survivor in Las Vegas, which began this season with a record 25,017 entries at $1,000 a piece – and heading into Week 3, only 8,610 entries remain.
It is remarkable, and it is also unfortunate. Of course, that is easy to say for the thousands of Survivor contestants who are no longer involved but really for the contest operators too. The promotional tools it provides, the storylines, the drama. There is so much hope and excitement in the buildup. Especially in Circa Survivor, where over $25M is on the line. To have that wiped out in one fell swoop, so soon, is not great for anybody.

Like so many people, we lost in Week 1 with the Chargers and in Week 2 with the Buccaneers. Not to worry though. The show must go on.
