A pair of former ACC adversaries resume their rivalry when the 23rd-ranked NC State Wolfpack (8-4) take on the Maryland Terrapins (7-5) on Friday in the 2022 Duke's Mayo Bowl. The teams are even at 33-33-4 in the all-time series, with Maryland posting a 41-21 victory in the most recent meeting in 2013. The Terrapins, who joined the Big Ten the following year, ended a three-game losing streak with a 37-0 triumph over Rutgers in their regular-season finale. NC State avoided a third straight defeat in its last game as it edged North Carolina 30-27 in double overtime.
Kickoff at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC is scheduled for noon ET. The Wolfpack are 1-point favorites in the latest NC State vs. Maryland odds at Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is set at 45.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page).
Before making any Maryland vs. NC State picks, you NEED to check out the college football predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.
The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past six-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $2,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.
The model knows freshman quarterback MJ Morris (lower body) has missed NC State's last two games but has been practicing and could be under center against the Terrapins. If Morris is unable to play, redshirt freshman Ben Finley will get the nod after throwing for 271 yards and two touchdowns against the Tar Heels in his first start of the season. Junior Jordan Houston leads the Wolfpack's ground attack with 530 rushing yards while senior Thayer Thomas is the team's top receiver with 53 catches, 588 yards and four TDs.
The model also knows there's no question who Maryland's starting quarterback will be as Taulia Tagovailoa looks to add to his program-record touchdown total. The junior connected on his 50th career scoring pass in the shutout win against Rutgers to overtake Scott Milanovich as the school's all-time leader. Senior Jeshaun Jones was the recipient as he finished with nine catches for 152 yards, and he'll be Tagovailoa's main target on Friday as fellow wideouts Rakim Jarrett, Jacob Copeland and Dontay Demus Jr. all opted out to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft.
Now, it has set its sights on NC State vs. Maryland. We can tell you the model is leaning Over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks.
