The New Orleans Pelicans will try to end a five-game losing streak on the road when they take on the New York Knicks on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Pelicans (16-28) have not won away from New Orleans since Dec. 23, losing all five road contests by an average of 11.8 points a game. Meanwhile the Knicks (22-23) are trying to end a two-game skid.

Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists New York as a four-point favorite in the latest Knicks vs. Pelicans odds while the Over/Under, or total number of points Caesars thinks will be scored, is 209. (Check out the odds of every game on SportsLine's NBA odds page.)

Before making any Pelicans vs. Knicks picks or NBA predictions, see what SportsLine's advanced computer model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit on its top-rated NBA picks over the past three-plus seasons. The model enters Week 14 of the 2021-22 NBA season on a stunning 56-30 roll on all top-rated NBA picks, returning more than $2,200. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows that New York has played much better defense over the last month. Since Dec. 16, Tom Thibodeau's club is giving up just 107.2 points per 100 possessions, which ranks seventh in the NBA. Prior to that, the Knicks had given up 110.6 points every 100 possessions, which was 23rd in the league.

The model also knows that New Orleans' Brandon Ingram continues to play at an All-Star level. Over his last 20 games, he is averaging 23.9 points a game on 46.5 percent shooting from the field. He also is contributing 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game over that stretch.

Now, the model has simulated Knicks vs. Pelicans 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Over the total, predicting a combined 216 points, and it's also generated a point-spread pick that is hitting in over 60 percent of simulations. You absolutely need to see it before locking in your own picks.
