Keeneland morning line odds: Racing insider gives picks for the late Pick 4 for Sunday, April 16
One day after hitting the Pick 5 and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes at Keeneland, Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir attacks Sunday's late Pick 4
World class horse racing takes place at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky., and on Sunday the late Pick 4 begins with Race 6 at 3:40 p.m. ET and ends with Race 9. Before you make any picks, you NEED to know how racing insider and accomplished horseplayer Bob Weir has handicapped the sequence.
A member of the Beyer Speed Figure-making team who is based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Weir is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. He has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014.
Last year he was red-hot in the Triple Crown prep races, hitting the superfecta in the Blue Grass Stakes for $1,678 and exactas in the Fountain of Youth Stakes and Tampa Bay Derby. He also hit the 19-1 winner of the Man o' War Stakes, the trifecta in the Pegasus World Cup, the superfecta in the Met Mile and multiple Pick 4s, including May 14's at Belmont for $1,851.Â
Two weeks ago he hit the late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park for $641 and the exacta in the Florida Derby. And on Saturday, Weir hit the Pick 5 at Keeneland for $135.68 and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes for $82.30.
For Sunday, Weir has handicapped the Pick 4 at Keeneland, made his picks and constructed his tickets.
We can tell you that Weir is high on Key of Life, the even-money favorite in the Beaumont Stakes, the third leg of the Pick 4. "She's 2-for-2 at Keeneland and has run faster Beyer Speed Figures than her competitors, owning the top three figures in the field," Weir tells SportsLine. Key of Life is Weir's top pick in the Beaumont Stakes and the only horse from the race on his Pick 4 tickets.
In addition, Weir's top pick in one of the races is a double-digit longshot. Weir says this horse "has to be live" and could spice up the Pick 4. Weir is including this longshot on his tickets, and so should you. You NEED to see Weir's analysis before making any Pick 4 selections.
