Josh Allen projections 2022: Fantasy stats, betting odds, Buffalo Bills player profile, season outlook, simulations

This year's preseason MVP favorite looks to lead Buffalo to its first Super Bowl in three decades

To say Josh Allen performed brilliantly in Buffalo's two January 2022 playoff games would be an understatement.

In two games against New England and Kansas City, Allen combined to go 48 of 62 passing for 637 yards with nine touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He even managed to scramble for more than 60 yards in both games. Yet its highly likely that the NFL's since-changed overtime rule cost him and Buffalo a chance at potentially ending their Super Bowl drought.

Heading into 2022, there's little doubt that Allen should be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in fantasy drafts. In his last two seasons, Allen has averaged nearly 4500 yards passing, 600 yards rushing, 37 touchdown passes, and seven additional scores on the ground. He did throw fifteen interceptions last year, but that's a small price to pay for the yardage and touchdown totals.

To add even more intrigue, the Bills added more weapons to his arsenal this offseason. Stefon Diggs has been considered one of the NFL's elite receivers and Gabriel Davis caught all four touchdowns against the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Playoff game. Veteran former Jets WR Jamison Crowder was added as the Bills slot man replacing Cole Beasley, which is a high-volume spot in Buffalo's offense. O.J. Howard was signed from Tampa Bay to form a potent TE tandem with budding star Dawson Knox. And Buffalo upgraded their RB core of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss by adding Georgia's James Cook, a pass-catching specialist.

It's no wonder that Bills fans haven't been as excited for their team's chances since the Jim Kelly-Thurman Thomas-Andre Reed days of the early-'90s.
