Unfortunately, you can't always land all of "your guys" in Fantasy. Some players simply become priced out of consideration as the collective Fantasy hype builds around them and their average draft position (ADP) rises. I am expecting absolutely massive things from Calvin Ridley, and few things get me hyped like landing Aaron Jones or Austin Ekeler in a Fantasy draft. But it's not uncommon for all three of those players to be selected in the first 15 picks in Fantasy drafts at this point. If you have a top-three pick, you don't even stand a realistic chance at landing them after you've used your first pick on one of the top three players.
The following 10 players all are being selected outside of the top 24 on average, though. So, even if you have the first pick, you should have a decent chance at still grabbing the good majority of them in 12-team drafts.
These 10 players are at the core of my team-building strategy in 2021 and are some that I have done my best to not leave my drafts without. You'll notice that wide receivers make up the good majority of the list -- that's because I'm almost always securing two running backs with my first two picks. I think Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill could very well post record-breaking years, and the same can be said for Travis Kelce and Darren Waller. I'm happy to select those guys if I find them at the right price. But my strongest roster builds almost always involve anchoring the RB position early before loading up on wide receivers.
