College football Week 2: Three picks based on betting systems hitting at more than 62%
SportsLine's Jeff Hochman has identified three selections for Week 2, including one on the Oklahoma-Michigan game

What a difference a week makes.
Over the summer, sportsbooks listed the Michigan Wolverines as 2.5-point favorites over the Oklahoma Sooners for the Week 2 matchup in Ann Arbor. But after Oklahoma routed UTEP 51-0 and Michigan barely escaped Western Michigan 13-12 in Week 1 on a controversial last-second Hail Mary, those same sportsbooks have the Sooners as 6-point favorites.
As the college football season enters Week 2, the Michigan-Oklahoma matchup fits into one of my most favorite betting systems, one that hits at a 62.8% rate. It is one of three systems I'm focusing on this week. All three are ones I personally rely on and have consistently performed at or better than 60% over a large sample size. One of the systems has hit at a 63.6% rate since 2011. (No betting approach is perfect, so please bet responsibly.)
Each system has produced a selection, and each selection is rated on a confidence scale from 0 to 5, where 5 means the highest level of confidence. I will also share my model's projection, which is a completely separate predictive metric. When my model and the system agree, that selection is more likely to bring home cash. A confidence level of 0 means I like the other side.
(Below, Hochman, who has hit 59% of his against-the-spread college football selections since the start of the 2021 season, shares his systems, model predictions and three plays for Week 2, including one on a double-digit underdog.)
