2025 Rocket Classic odds, predictions: Top picks, bets, longshots to back at this week's PGA Tour tournament
Golf insider Eric Cohen has broken down the 2025 Rocket Classic field and locked in his predictions and best bets
If you bet Tommy Fleetwood at the Travelers Championship last week, the uneasy feeling in your stomach probably still hadn't subsided as of Monday morning. With a one-shot lead on the final hole, Fleetwood managed to come up short on his approach and miss a six-foot par putt to set the stage for a dramatic winner by U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley. Now, the PGA Tour moves on from its final Signature Event of the season to the much weaker field at the 2025 Rocket Classic in Detroit.
Cam Davis is the only two-time winner of this event, having rallied on Sunday to defeat Akshay Bhatia, Aaron Rai, Davis Thompson, and Min Woo Lee last year. Playing at nearly 7,400 yards, both bombers and shorter hitters can contend here if they display solid all-around games. Water is only in play on one hole with tricky greens as the best defense for the likely low scores.
Collin Morikawa, who lost this tournament in a playoff in his only appearance (2023), is the +1200 favorite, followed by last week's winner Keegan Bradley (+1600), Patrick Cantlay (+1800), Ben Griffin (+2200), and Cameron Young (+2800). Morikawa, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 5, is +130 to finish inside the top 10, while Bradley is +350 to crack the top five. Davis is an 80-1 longshot to finish on top of the leaderboard, while 2023 winner, Rickie Fowler, is going off at 40-1.
Before locking in any 2025 Rocket Classic picks, you NEED to see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf insider Eric Cohen.
The host of Tuesday's Early Wedge Best Bets Show on SportsLine's YouTube page, Cohen is an avid golf bettor who correctly predicted the pre-tournament outright winner in eight tournaments over the last three seasons. He correctly identified Justin Thomas to win the 2025 RBC Heritage (+1800) and Ben Griffin (+4500 w/o Scheffler) to win the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge.
Cohen has also called Aaron Rai (2024 Wyndham Championship, +3300), Davis Thompson (2024 John Deere Classic, +2200), Bryson DeChambeau (2024 U.S. Open, +2000), Scottie Scheffler (2024 Players Championship, +550), Rickie Fowler (2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic, +1400), Brooks Koepka (2023 PGA Championship, +2000) and Chris Kirk (2023 Honda Classic, +3500) over the last few seasons. Anyone who followed his lead could have been WAY UP!
Now, Cohen has been digging into the 2025 Rocket Classic field to find the best betting value and just locked in his best bets and longshots to back.
This week, Cohen is fading Collin Morikawa, even though he is the favorite on the odds board. Another shocker: Cohen is high on Chris Kirk, even though he's an 80-1 longshot. "Two weeks ago, he posted his best finish of the season, a T12 at Oakmont where Kirk gained more than seven strokes around the green. Last year's champion of the season-opening Sentry Tournament, the American has four top-21 finishes in five trips to Detroit Golf Club. Though he's never cracked the top-10 here, Kirk seems overdue to contend this season and seems to like this place based on his historical results."
Moreover, Cohen is jumping on several other golfers, including one priced at 200-1! Anyone who backs these golfers could cash in HUGE. You need to see who it is before locking in any 2025 Rocket Classic picks of your own.
